Yesterday I got a call from Bridal gown designer, Janell Berte, with a job proposition for next week. She is designing costumes for a theatre show and needs an extra stitcher to jump in at the last minute. Since she's the expert I first learned to sew from I said, sure. So I'll be sewing at her studio next week. I'm really excited to learn more about her costume design work since she was only doing Bridal gown designs back when I first met her.

Today I'm working diligently to finish up some new Etsy bags before the weekend!
Sunday I'm making a trip to a semi-local historical society to look at their historical costumes. They are having me give a presentation later in the summer and would like to have me evaluate the costumes and give them ideas on conservation, appropriate storage options, and ideas for a display. I'm not sure what they have, but I'm super excited to go and look. My friend, Gaye, will be joining me. She's been such an inspiration in reenacting because she's super authentic - her entire person, along with every inch of her house look as they should for the 1860s. She's pretty fabulous. So, it will be a fun chance to see her again and share our mutual love for historical clothing. : )
