Today I've had sewing inspiration and satisfaction. The perfect duo. I spent the day working with my friend Katie. We chatted it up about sewing, patternmaking and vintage finds. : ) After work - which hardly seemed like work - I went out to dinner with my parents before heading home to spend the evening searching Etsy for cute vintage finds and working on a few sewing projects.I finally allowed myself the time to freshen up a cute royal blue chiffon 1950s dress that I purchased from Katie for $20 a few weeks ago. It just needed a little ironing, a few mends, and now it's like new and all ready to be worn to church tomorrow. I <3 vintage dresses. It really got me thinking more about doing another historical clothing fashion show...maybe in the winter? I was rooting through my vintage dresses to see if I wanted to sell any...I only found one...and I really think that they all want to get out on the runway again for a fashion show. : )
And, I finished up the black linen purses that I was working on. Mine, in particular. I added the tiffany blue buttons that Katie got me in Thailand to the front...they match the tiffany blue cotton lining, so I'm pretty pleased about that. And, I found the perfect shirt to wear with the purse the other day while thrifting. It's a cute black linen top with little ruffles edged in white stitching. It's perfect for my trip to the Historical Society tomorrow. : )
