Craft Show

Today was a very successful day at the downtown craft show! Katie and I shared a stand right next to her friend Emm. We had a marvelous time. Katie, Emm, and Candace - Katie's other friend, are all really sweet Christian girls. We had such a fun time together. Each of them has a really unique sense of fashion and they're all very happy with who they are - not trying to impress other people. It's so awesome to hang around friends like that. So often people our age seem really concerned with what others think - especially up at PSU.

I sold a few bags and made some $$$. But mainly I was thankful that I went because of the chance to try something new and spend time with great people. What a blast! Katie was even kind enough to drive her husband's van over to pick me up so that we could fit all the tables in. : )

And, I purchased the cutest little buttons for $1 from Katie that she purchased while in Thailand on her honeymoon. They're tiffany blue with rhinestone designs. I also purchased a vintage 1950s dress that Katie was selling...no one purchased it, so I snatched it up. And it fits like a glove. Awesomeness.

I'm super excited for Carrie's wedding this coming weekend! I found a vintage 1960s dress in my closet that I haven't worn yet and it's really adorable. It has a black satin skirt and belt and pink satin bodice with black lace overlay. The skirt is semi full - sort of 1950s looking but a little more fitted.

In other weekend buys, I found a cute bag at Mommalicious, the local downtown vintage shop, for $14. It's handsewn and I'm planning to use it for a pattern for bags to sell on Etsy.

Now, I must be off to clean up the dreadful mess I left in my sewing area. I accidentally spilled a canister full of buttons while sewing and watching 'Scarlett' last night - the sequel to 'Gone with the Wind'.
