Finding Me

I realized today - for the millionth time - that I need to learn to appreciate my own sense of style. Sometimes I feel so inspired by magazines like 'Romantic Homes' and all of the blogs by their readers. But other times I feel a little...bogged down by all of that. The pink and pastels. The shabby chic white furniture. The trinkets everywhere. And it's then that I'm reminded of my favorite vintage stores and I once more feel inspired. It's so much more vibrant to me. It's colorful, glamorous, daring, fun, and totally not pink. ; )

I don't need to look any further than my inspiration board to know what my true style is. Very Vibrant. Very eclectic and random. Very very glamorous. Very 1930s. Silk and satin. Lots of sparkle. Like flowers. They have vibrant color.

This past year has been so much about finding my own style. And I learn that it's constantly evolving. But I can't and shouldn't attempt to characterize it as a certain look. It's my own. And that's the way it should be.

And I'm learning to discover the awesomeness of having my own business.

Vince will be sharing our Boal Mansion apartment with our good friend Paul in August and September. I'm super excited for Vince! I was a little worried about my handsome being there all alone when he's so accustomed to having his pals around. Paul is an awesome thrifter and antique hunter and I'm sure that the two of them will have a great fall together. ; )

Today I saw a cute travel bag that I would love to make. It was adorable with its vintage style, light blue color and large rose floral print. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the perfect fabric. Actually, I might have some left over from another project. It's a Harve Benard print and so much like the fabric on the bag I saw. Hmmm...I'll need a travel bag for the honeymoon...
