Thoughts on a week past

So sorry my posts have been few lately!

Things have been very busy around here this past week. I was working at Janell Berte's workshop creating costumes for the production 'Seed of a Nation' about the founding of Pennsylvania. The show should be quite interesting as Janell has gone to great lengths to make the costumes accurate to what would have been worn during the era. The silk 1700s Robe a la Francaise gowns were delightful! It was very inspirational to work with Janell and on a project like this. I'm just brimming with new ideas!

Meanwhile, Vince's grandfather was in the intensive care unit suffering from a heart attack. He passed away on Thursday. On Wednesday, I also found out that my grandfather has been taken off chemotherapy for his lukemia. So it has been a very emotionally exhausting past few days. This weekend we buried Vince's grandfather and celebrated his life with a memorial service at Trinity on Sunday. It was very difficult to get through the service, but it was very meaningful and necessary.

On Saturday in between Vince's family activities we took a few moments to stop at a favorite antiquing spot. First, to check out a stand that sells civil war era cdvs. Vince likes to collect local cdvs. And, secondly, to look for a pearl necklace to wear with my wedding dress. We found one! I wanted to find a beautiful necklace to go with my dress. Something really special. And this one is. It's an antique two strand pearl necklace with an adorable clasp - a necessary. It's so special to find the perfect piece of jewelry while out with my Vincent. I'm starting to get really excited about this wedding! And, more importantly, about our life together afterwards. : )
