I love this red silk satin dress! Isn't it gorgeous?

I've been working on the text for the website a little today. Sometimes it seems like I'm being so strict...but then I realize that the standards are just put there to protect me from people trying to take advantage. Some customers just seem to think that because they are having you sew something for them they have you at their mercy and you have to please them. Really, I don't look at it that way at all. I would think they should be happy to have someone skilled and knowledgeable creating their garment. The fitting section of the website is just so strict...it almost makes it seem like no matter what you do you're going to have to pay a fee...if you show up late, if you miss your appointment, if you don't arrive wearing the proper undergarments. But, really, why should I have to be prepared for their fitting and have them show up late or miss the fitting altogether - that's a waste of my time.

I had one customer a few summers ago who ordered a jacket, gave me his measurements, and then when the jacket was finished he decided that it didn't fit him correctly - too tight - even though it was made to the correct measurements. I didn't know what to do so I made him a new coat to larger measurements, and gave the other coat to Vince - who is a little bigger than the man it was made for. It fits Vince perfectly. If it hadn't fit Vince I don't know what I would have done. I don't want something like that to happen again. Hence, the need for a design contract to protect me. : )
