:::Spring Weekend Fun:::
Spring has arrived and PSU is budding with excitment over the nice weather. Friday afternoon I took an official break from schoolwork to nap in the sunshine and later look at reenacting photos of friends and acquaintances. I got a couple ideas of events that I'd like to go to in the future. I definitely want to try to attend the Union League Ball in Philadelphia next year - it looked like there were some stunning (authentic) ballgowns there the past two years. Although, to my disappointment, it seems that everyone just owns one authentic ballgown and rewears it each year, but at least they look good. : ) Friday night we went to NAVS to hear Justin Hester talk. It was really inspiring.
Saturday morning Vince and I went to McLanahan's for bagels - they have the best bagels, and then drove to Bellefonte for a morning date. We stopped at an antique store in town first where I purchased a few small things. Vince discovered that the local library had a historical collection on display so we visited there. It was very cool. They had lots of original clothing on display, including some from the 1860s. There were also a few cdv albums which were in really great condition and had some nicely made cdvs - pretty dresses, too! What a find! Afterwards we went back to the main part of town where we fed the ducks at the stream. They have a little garden area and bridge over the stream that is picturesque. When we went to Bellefonte before Christmas break we saw a lifesize stuffed penguin at a quaint little toystore in town, so Vince promised that he would buy me the penguin since we're doing a date night tonight to watch a documentary that will have penguins in it. : ) So I am now the proud owner of a lifesize stuffed penguin - it's pretty fun!
Today we missed church because I accidentally slept in. Oops! But Alliance Christian Fellowship has their sermons online so we were able to listen to it in my room.
I purchased the navy blue cotton fabric for my graduation dress today! It was in the nautical fabrics section at Joanns. All of the nautical fabrics were soooo cute! I wanted to make several dresses. : ) The fabric is a really good quality navy blue cotton with a ribbed stripes. The stripe will run vertically when I make the dress. I'm going to drape my own pattern for it because there really aren't any out there that are exactly what I'm looking for.
