Costume Paintings
While I should have been reading Mary Wollstonecraft's "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman" I browsed THIS site for fun costume inspirations. I didn't find many new costume ideas, but I did find a few tableaux ideas. I also admired the painting on the front of my Wollstonecraft book, which I've included above. It's Portrait of Madame Roland by Adelaide Labille-Guiard. I love the fabrics and cut of the bodice on the painting. It's even prettier on the book cover because the whole painting is less yellowed and whiter. So pretty.
