Sketches for Lady Teazle's costume from 'School for Scandal'. This is all the same dress with two different side views. In one scene the overskirt will be worn down and in the other it will be tacked up to create a huge monstrosity at the back of the dress. It's supposed to be comical. The colors are purple for the overskirt and bodice, White with a small design for the underskirt and ruching, and pink with a large stripe for the bows and bodice deco. My inspiration came from fashion plates of the era (1780-90).
