Oh happy weekend! Vince's brother Eric is visiting this weekend. And he brought along with him my NEW KITCHENAID MIXER!!! I was so excited for it's arrival. We set to work right away making Chocolate Chip Cookies. They may be simple to make, but they're one of my favorite cookies to eat. : ) They turned out very yummy and the mixer was very exciting to use! Vince's parents gave it to us as a wedding present. It's stylishly silver and very sleek and classy looking. <3Today was the big PSU game, so after making Chocolate Chip Pancakes (this weekend is totally about junk food) I drove the boys into town and then spent the day working on my new bedroom CURTAINS.
The curtains are being made out of a Gold Silk Brocade that I had purchased awhile ago at the PA Fabric Outlet to use as a Renaissance dress. Well, I probably would never get around to making the dress...at least not in the next few years, so I decided to make it into curtains to match the gold bed drapery. : )
Stopped at JoAnn Fabrics to pick up some lining fabric - Blackout fabric @ $5.99 per yard. And since their Vogue patterns were on sale I purchased this one. I really like this little tunic. It seems very chic. Not sure when I'll get time to make it, but if an occasion pops up to wear it to it's always nice to have the pattern on hand. : ) I think I'd make it out of some black satin fabric maybe? Either that or Burgandy satin...
Now off to watch a movie with Vince and Eric!
