Inspiration Strikes! At Last!

Isn't this necklace divine? It's from Sudlow on Etsy.
Rachel's work is amazing. I love these little pea in a pod necklaces. She even has one that you can get something stamped on the back. And another that is the Princess and the Pea! Cute!

Favorite Magazines: Victoria and Romantic Homes
They define Me!
I've been reading flipping through them a lot lately. I have all of my past issues of Victoria on hand. ; )

I've been researching Betsy's Boobie Bags. Which I may have mentioned on here before. I heard about her bags while working at the PA Fabric Outlet a few years ago. She came in to purchase supplies for her bags, which are made from bras. I tucked it away in the back of my mind - making bags from bras. It has always interested me, and I've thought about how they must look and how they're made. It's just an interesting concept. I think that my idea of how they should look is a little different from how hers look, and also different from how the ones on Etsy look. Maybe I'll have to try to make one sometime...I could try to sell it on Etsy or at the Block Party in June. Hmm...It sounds so crazy, but I just want to try it! : )

And, I found out that the vintage store where I purchased my green 1950s dress a few years ago in Frederick, MD was called 'Venus on the Half Shell'. Just wanted to make a not of that here for future me. I need to visit there again. And, I love the name!

Another jewelry note, I love the work of Stephanie Gibson who is a local artist and also on Etsy.

The latest project I'm planning is a duvet cover for the down comforter we purchased for our apartment next year. I think I'd like to make the cover of brown cotton with an overlay of sheer brown cotton gathered vertically to form horizontal gathers. There would be several rows of vertical gathering to create sections of horizontal gathers. I saw a duvet cover made in this way on Anthropologie. It was just a solid cotton, but I think it would work with the brown sheer. I have so much of it from a previous project...called the Orientalism stand at Landis Valley.

And, final HUGE inspiration: Tomorrow is Katie's WEDDING! I can't believe she's getting married!!! I can't wait, it's going to be a blast! Expect lots of pictures!
