:::Absolutely Fabulous:::
This weekend was absolutely FABULOUS! Vince came home to visit! Saturday and Sunday I had to work. But in between I spent time with my fiance. Saturday morning we had breakfast with Vince's grandmother at a local diner. His youngest brother, Eric, joined us. After work I spent time with Vince's family and his other grandparents at their home. Lots of LAUGHS and outdoor games. : ) They're the game loving side of the family. And, Vince's brothers got a kick out of throwing balls 'to' me...because I'm afraid of footballs and turn and run the other direction when they're headed towards me. I'll throw them...just not catch them. I had a little incident when I was younger...
Sunday evening was spent at my house for my grandfather's BIRTHDAY party. It was really meaningful for our family because he has lukemia and hasn't made it to a family gathering in about three years. Vince and I planned to spend the rest of the evening together catching up, but by the time we finished chatting with everyone else I was beat. So...
Monday - today, we woke up early to go to a flea market! For the past...SO many years I've spent every Memorial Day in a parade. And, for once, it was nice to not have to parade around in a band uniform or my civil war dress. FINALLY, a break. : ) It was nice. I just had the day off, and it was PERFECT. We found dining room chairs to go with our table. Victorian cottage style chairs with cained seats. $10 each. : ) They're in really good condition...except only one of them is currently cained. : ) But, my father agreed to help me put wooden seat on them that I can make silk cushions for. I'm pretty excited about that. I think I'd like to make each cushion a different color...something UNIQUE. I also purchased a great paint by number picture for our house...very vintage and ROMANTIC all at the same time.
The rest of the day was spent lying in the grass with my Vincent, and CHATTING with Steven, Vince's middle brother who has just returned from his first year at the Naval Academy. He's agreed to model some of my latest ETSY bags...Navy/Sailor bags in red, white, and blue with little navy men printed on the fabric. The fabrics I'm using are really fun. The one is a vintage 1930s repro. I purchased all that was on the bolt because I just couldn't resist.
