Regency Era Sewing

Here are pics of the progress of the Regency era costumes. The burgandy fabric is one of the Regency dresses that I'm in the middle of sewing. The plaid fabric is the beginning of a mock up of the Pelisse pattern I'm working on.

Sounds silly that I never tried this before, but my friend Katie was telling me last night that I could go to Staples and have them copy the pattern for my to the size I needed. I just never thought that was really possible...even though my sweetie tried to tell me a couple times! I believe you now, Vince! She said it was only about $5 when she had something copied - so cheap!

Last night Katie and I worked together...it was super slow so we had a marvelous time talking and catching up! Afterwards we headed over to Barnes and Noble where we had dinner, chatted, and looked at crafty books for ideas. It's so much fun to have a crafty friend to do things like that with! We sort of fell into a friendship and it's just been so crazy how much we have in common...the same cars, the same style engagement rings, a huge interest in Etsy (HUGE), and we love similar foods. Interesting. And very cool!

Lately I've been loving Amy Butler's handbag patterns HERE, sipping hot cocoa, and eating lots of thin mint girl scout cookies. Hot cocoa + Etsy = Love.

Thin mints rock! I didn't know it was girl scout cookie time already though...

I'll have to get on that!
