Fabulous Weekend
This weekend I spent a delightful three days with my Vincent enjoying all of the beauty of fall. Friday night we spent time enjoying eachother's company. Saturday morning was the reenactment at Rockford. My mother wore her new silk 1700s dress and undergarments. We never did get the stays done, but it wasn't noticeable. The dress looked fabulous! I will post pictures eventually. Life is so busy sometimes. Vince met me there later and we took a leisurely stole around the park enjoying the great fall weather and the reenactment around us. I never did finish my costume due to the pattern mishap. Although I missed out on dressing up I did enjoy taking picture of my mother in her costume and checking out the vendors. How I love the clothing of that era (as I do every era). Reenacting has tired me out though and I don't feel that I have the strength to begin a new venture of that sort right now.
That afternoon we had lunch at market, stopped at the Heritage Center where we played with their many marble towers - Vince loves them dearly, sipped hot chocolate at Square One and read the Bible, and spent a wonderful evening with his grandmother for dinner and conversation. What a marvelous time we had together! One of our best weekends yet this semester!
Since my last post many things have changed in my life...my room is cleaner, I am the proud owner of a large pair of feather wings for my angel costume (no longer will I be a 1930s girl for the masquerade party on Saturday), and today I purchased myself a very fun pair of rain boots in olive green with sage green polka dots. They are lovely. ; )
Today Vince and I went to the book store where I browsed around the shelves to my heart's content. Usually I never have time to look as long as I would like, but today was different and it was so satisfying to look at all of the wonderful books. My favorite thing to do is to learn and books are an endless possibility for gaining knowledge. There is such a sensuality to reading, too. The touch and smell of books is so charming.

Book love is the best. I really don't get people who claim they hate to read.
