Battle Wounds

After returning from my trip to Gettysburg for the 1888 event I set to work cleaning up the basement which was a battle zone from the Tableaux preparation and making of the 1888 wardrobe. In the cleaning process I (literally) ran into a needle...leaving a little soreness on my toe. Well, after a week of doctoring that wound - made larger by a little visit to the doctor's office to rectify the situation, I finally learned today after an X-ray that I did indeed have a rather large chunk of needle lodged in my toe. Hmmm.. Yes, I told the doctor that it was possibly 1/8" in size, but it was really 1/2"! I'm surprised that such a large piece of needle could have been lodged in my foot all week and I still got around tolerably. I tried desperately to hide my limp - so unfashionable to hobble about. : ) A trip to the plastic surgeon this afternoon resulted in the removal of the foreign object. Yay! The secretary at the doctor's office would have put cause of illness as 'foreign object' except she couldn't remember how to spell foreign, so she put 'needle in toe' instead. ; ) I'm glad that everything will be back to normal soon.

I tried to post an update on my next project last night but the computer ate it. So I will repost about it.
