I was already really happy today, but THEN...then I saw this picture. Just your ordinary decorating pic, right? You're probably thinking that I fell in love with the monogramed numbers on those chairs. But, no. Wrong again. It's that FABULOUS Giant CHALKBOARD along the wall!
It sounds crazy, but before I saw this picture I came up with the idea after surveying my dining room...wouldn't it be AWESOME to have a giant chalkboard for the dining room wall. It would be for Spring. Something upbeat, new, FUN. And if it had chalk dust on it and old drawings it would still be PERFECT...it would add interest.
Someone called my decorating style 'FUN' this week. And I thought...you know, you're right. That is my decorating style. I love things that are UNIQUE. That's why I can't get enough of Vintage, Thrift, and Antique stores. I crave their "old" things. Beat up junk. Beautiful junk. Expensive junk. Junk. It's beautiful...it's FUN.
So, this is the beginning of a new view of decorating for me...decorating can be FUN. It may be at the heart of my style anyway, so I might as well embrace it.
This should be fun. :)

I love the chalkboard idea! I saw an article (I think it was in ReadyMade) where a lady made a wine rack and somehow the outside was a chalkboard. It was really cool, but I don't really remember how she did it because...I have no use for a wine rack ;-) LOL
:) Cool! I saw another neat pic the other day of a huge chalkboard along a wall in the kitchen. It looked really cute! I'll have to keep it in mind for my next kitchen. ;)
