:::18th Century Project:::
I'm embarking on an 18th Century Sewing Project this winter! All a part of my business endeavors. Last Thursday I made a trip to the Calico Corners outlet for silks for several 1770s dresses. I know I want to make on Robe a la Francaise out of the fabric, and possibly another style of gown. Currently I'm focusing on the Robe a la Francaise. Today I sat down to work on researching for the pattern. Lots of notes and pictures. I think I've got the design narrowed down and can begin to work on the pattern tomorrow.
I love the clothing of the 1700s! I'm so excited for this project! I'm also looking forward to testing the waters of Revolutionary War Reenacting this summer. The "girl next door" that I grew up with is also interested, so we're hoping to join a group together. She's also very into the costumes of that era. So it should be fun to do together.
My sewing room is the last room in the house to get organized...and it still needs a TON of work. Right now it's just piles of fabrics covering the organizational system that I set up. Well, the trip home didn't help. I just brought up a whole car load of fabrics and the small closet in the sewing room is not large enough for even 1/4 of it. So I still have many issues to work through with fabric storage! :)
