Fun Day and 1860s Plans

Today was a very good day. :) I woke up early and drove 30 min. to some excellent ANTIQUE stores. Oh, what a divine time! All by myself, no one to tell me to hurry up. I wandered the rows and rows of antique and vintage findings happily contented. And, I found a few neat TREASURES as well.

Two large panels of white cotton netting with white embroidered design - perfect for an 1850s style ballgown. It was such a good price and I couldn't pass it up!

A brown/plum plaid wool shawl that I fell in LOVE with. It's perfect for Civil War reenacting!

A small black VINTAGE tin trash can with painted roses and a black card games themed tea tin...but perfect for housing our growing tea collection. I love collecting and using vintage TEA TINS...they're sooo PRETTY!

Last night - after thinking that things couldn't get any lonelier, we were invited downstairs to our neighbors' for a movie night!!! What FUN! Josh and Kirsten are the sweetest neighbors. They had set up a movie projector and we watched movies on the big screen. 'Hero' and 'The Painted Veil'. Makes me want to watch 'House of Flying Daggers' again - I liked that one.

Now I'm super excited to get to work on planning my newest 1860s ballgown...made from Green Silk purchased ages ago on Ebay. I'd also like to finish two new petticoats and my Needles and Thread Cage Crinoline to wear under it. I love the above fashion plate for a dress. I've seen other originals with similar hem treatments. I think I'd like something a bit like this. And definitely a train! :)
