Halloween Angel Costume
I was planning to make a satin bias cut 1930s dress but ditched that project for something far simpler! After I purchased all of the supplies including the expensive wig, boa, and jewelry, of course.
The bodice of the Angel costume was made using a Vogue wedding dress pattern. The skirt was gathered onto the bodice. The bodice and skirt contain three layers - a top layer of swimsuit lining which happened to have a very nice sheen and flow to it, a gold sheer fabric under, and a white slinky fabric as the base. The wings were purchased at Goodwill - they were new and I just couldn't pass them up! I found the sequin beaded trim at the Fabric Outlet. And, I purchased my serger with the express intention of using it to make this garment! Ha!
