Christmas Preparations

Getting ready for Christmas!

Tonight after dinner I baked a few batches of Christmas cookies...okay, they were actually chocolate chip because I have a deep admiration for the classic taste of chocolate chip cookies. You can't go wrong with chocolate chip! It was so relaxing to bake! I feel like I should do it more often, but like exercise and practicing my flute, it gets put on the schedule but is so easy to bump to the next day's agenda. I wrapped the Christmas cookies in red embroidered silk with white glittered netting inside to stick out the top and tied them in a bundle with a bow. They looked so festive! I found the fabric scraps in the scrap bag at work, too, so I felt very thrifty.

Feeling the delight of thriftiness paired with that 1950s delight in everything housewife-like I headed downstairs after the baking to work on a sewing project. The thriftiness came in when I rumaged through the scrap polished cotton box and had a ball pressing and using the smallest pieces for the craft I'm making. Oh, it's so wonderful to use things from the stash! There's just nothing better!
