1858 Event

Delicate snowflakes fell from the sky today, showering the surroundings with a picturesque, gentle, and stunningly beautiful display of winter.

I'm sitting in my cozy clothes with a Spiced Pumkin candle burning (the smell of Autumn!) and doing some last minute research for the Christmas 1858 living history in Petersburg. I will be portraying Mrs. Elizabeth Eppes. There are only a handful of us involved in the living history, so I feel a little nervous because so much pressure will be on all of us to converse in first person. This will really be only my second major first person event.

I did do very well in first person at the Rockford Candlelight tour though! I surprised myself! So hopefully this will turn out to be as easy as that tour was.

Wedding plans continue. Tomorrow night the photographer comes to our house so that we can meet her and look at her portfolio. I really think that this is the one. I love her work - very artistic. www.laurenfisher.com

Last night I talked to the private flute teacher I went to up until a few years ago. She is still playing with a harpist at weddings, so I'm hoping that I can get them to play at the ceremony! www.glissandair.com

Once I have more details figured out - such as the date and the reception site (officially) I'll post more decorating ideas, colors, etc. that I've been working on. I've been clipping lots of things from wedding magazines and compiling a huge notebook with all of my inspirations. Maybe I can even get a few pictures of the pages to post! : ) It's an exciting time...but also a little stressful at times.
