End of Summer

Last night Vince and I spent our last night together this summer before the start of school. It was hard to part with my sweetie, but I know that we have a lot of great adventures ahead of us as he finishes his education at PSU and I enjoy some time to focus on growing into the woman I want to be. : )

We watched 'The Painted Veil' by Rosie's recommendation. It was really a great movie. Good costumes and a terrific (but sad) storyline. After work we met up for dinner and then did a little back to school shopping for Vince at Target. Vince gave me a gorgeous antique fan and a cdv of a woman in a silk 1860s dress. Along with one of his favorite pens - he's very picky about his office supplies.

I gave my notice to the Fabric Outlet. I'll no longer be working there because I need the free time. I think it will be a nice change although I'll miss working with fabric and people. I loved that job. : )

I've been itching to purchase some new costume books...and to get back up to PSU to check out their library. I <3 costume and Orientalism books at PSU! ; )

Gahh! Lindsey! I hope the Painted Veil didn't spoil your last evening of the summer with Vince! I mean, the Painted Veil isn't exactly the ideal date movie. And it sure as heck doesn't always have a positive outlook on relationships between men and women. Oh, I really do hope you weren't expecting it to be something entirely different :-/

No, it was a great movie. The first movie that Vince and I watched together on a date was one about a gay man (Tom Hanks) who found out he had aids and was in some legal battle that had to do with it. Such a bad first date movie! Vince picked it out! Don't ask me what compelled him to pick out that movie to watch with his new girlfriend. : )
