Peaceful
:::Peaceful:::
This weekend is fast approaching, and I was so hoping to have pictures of my new ballgown to post by the end of it. But, after a little chat with my husband last night I realized that there are more important things to focus on now...and so the green silk ballgown will not be finished for this weekend. It is looking rather lovely though - after two weeks of working on it. The bodice is finished all except for the sleeves, which are quite elaborate and require much hand sewing. I'd also like to add ruching trim to the skirt as well as purple beads that will need to be hand sewn. And I'm still contemplating trim for the bodice. It's a very elaborate ballgown.
So for now I'm slowing down the pace and focusing on a presentation for this Sunday: Women's Clothing 1770-1830. This is a big deal for me because while I've done lots of different presentations on women's clothing of the 1860s, I've never done a presentation on this earlier era. So I'm working on a new slideshow and outline. Wish me luck!
We're still working on getting that apartment, and I'll post pictures of it once everything is finalized. ;)
