A Little Update

:::Update:::

So, I've decided to fill you in on a few of the post worthy things that I should have posted about but didn't. :)

The Historical Clothing Presentation at Wheatland (www.wheatland.org) went fabulously! I was featured in the local Advertiser and Weekender with a picture of Vince and I in our period clothing and an article about...me. It should have been about the clothing, but the lady seemed so much more interested in why I liked historical clothing. Heh. I kept trying to tell her how awesome the collection is. About 70 people attended the lecture in the very tiny Carriage House where I had a number of different 1850-60s original dresses displayed, including a period wedding gown with veil and berthe. Everyone seemed really interested. It was a little difficult for me because I haven't done a presentation in awhile so I was pretty nervous. And, it was hard to answer questions and follow my outline at the same time!

I've been working on refinishing the table full time this week. Along with painting a Vanity table and mirror that I thrifted. I think I'm finally done painting them! The dining room table is turning out really lovely. I tried a new stain called Red Oak...the table is red oak, and it turned the table the perfect shade - just the shade I wanted. Sort of redish orange...a lot like the original finish. I've been taking pictures of the process and will post soon.

Saturday we start moving things into the new apartment which is offically ours tomorrow! :)

Tonight was craft night at Jane's house. It was pretty nice. Some times are better than others. Now that I don't work there I feel sort of like an outsider, but sometimes it's good to be an outsider (especially if it means not having to wake up early to drive to a job you...have a strong dislike for...).
