Today I'm cleaning my room and watching North and South. I <3 the teal silk ballgown in that movie. My Harem Costume ballgown was semi inspired by that. I liked the V cut neckline. I also liked the red ballgown in Daniel Deronda that has the V neckline, and I found an original ballgown bodice to base the repro off of. I was considering making my next ballgown with that neckline style as well. I'd like to drape another pattern though and maybe alter a few things.
I'm really excited about getting my antique flute fixed up this summer and learning to play it - the fingerings are different than the modern flute. I've acquired so many great projects over the years that I will now finally have time to start working on. Ivory parasols and fans to recover, tons of fabrics for dresses of all eras, and a huge stash of vintage and modern jewelry to fix. : )
