Tonight I'm 'researching' and being a sort of workahaulic. I've just now persuaded myself to pour a cup hot chocolate, even though I've been promising myself I'd get up and do it for over an hour. Heh. When I get started on something I just can't pull myself away!
Tonight I've been pouring over the inspirational words and pictures in Casey's Elegant Musings blog again! Her etsy store is such an inspiration to me! I'm desiring more than ever to start my own business. It's something that I've dreamed of for a long while. Ever since middle school - reading 'Victoria' magazines that featured female small business owners. I knew then that that's what I wanted to do. Somehow I just got lost between then and now! Maybe I'm just insecure and feel like I won't be able to make it work. So, I'm currently working on building up my courage. I'm still formulating what direction the business would go in...naturally it would have to do with costumes. But I love costumes of all eras so I'm trying to figure out where I want to go with that! I don't want to get stuck making the same thing over and over. Unless they're 1930s evening gowns because right now they = love <3. href="http://a-friend-to-knit-with.blogspot.com/2007/05/hold-it.html">This Blog: A Friend to Knit With that contains instructions on how to make a fabulous earring display board! I want one! Melissa and I were discussing jewelry display boards on Friday at work...she and Brian (her husband) want to make them to sell. I'm first in line! She and Jane help me get through. They're my life savers. It's good to be surrounded by inspirational women.
We also discussed corsets recently because of my up and coming corset project. I found This Ribbon Corset on Farthingales site. It's very cute!
And, I've decided that I NEED to get the Tasha Tudor catalog! It would be so worth the money! I just have to save up enough for it. : )
Sometimes I don't feel very creative...then I just take a look around and I realize that deep down I am!
Anthroplogie and J.Crew have been two of my biggest sources of fashion inspiration lately. On my magnet board I've posted pictures from their magazines. Another source of inspiration since middle school - J.Crew. I think Victoria magazin, J.Crew everyday clothing, and Ann Taylor glamorous clothing were the three most important discoveries made in my Middle School years...definitely very influential discoveries!
